its monday!!!!

Reading Henry IV in Shakespeare class…really liking it!  Im feeling uneasy about how strongly I identify with Prince Hal.  But the metaplay aspect and all the other metaphors and duality are wonderful.  I think my paper topic is going to be exploring the interpretaion of HIV as a Morality Play. It looks like one, smells like one; but with the soliloquy  at the end of Act 1 scene 2 Hal shows that it is his intention to choose amorality and then to turn to morality, so what comment is Shakespeare making here?  Im fascinated by the whole Luciferian theme that seems tied in and want to look into that further as well.  Alot to think about!  My prof. is a major shakespeare geek, but a very endearing one. Its charming to here these really interesting and insightful lectures from a man who also uses “ya’ll.”  It works though, I promise. The most important progress Im trying to make is to not be argumentative at all.  I hate to say it but it was Mr. Benjamin Franklin that got this point driven home.  I have this bad habit of asking questions with only inflection and poor inflection it is. And making statements that Im not sure about in hopes that someone else wil shed light on the subject.  Forgetting to say “perhaps” and “maybe.” How obnoxious I must sound.  That and i geuss i make too many tangents: I bring up too many inconsequential things. I really need a better filter.  But tonite I feel I kept it together quite well. And the result?? I really learned alot:) Figured out that Im not quite grasping the subtle implications of class. Its hard for me to tell when some things exclude or include commoners; I now have a good focus for my studies this week.  I really want to get my hands dirty this time around not just stay in the clouds, in the philosophical realms of literature.  Wish me luck!
